Ist die östlichste Atlantikprovinz Kanadas auf dem Breitengrad von Südfrankreich. Das Wetter  ist vergleichsweise mild im Winter und herrlich warm im Sommer. Der Herbst ist warm und wunderschön mit seiner herrlichen Laubfärbung (Indian Summer). Der Golfstrom hat einen wesentlichen Einfluss auf das gemäßigte Klima. Das Wasser mit Temperaturen im Atlantik bis zu 22 Grad Celsius und in den Seen bis zu 26 Grad Celsius lädt nicht nur zum Baden ein. Insider nennen Nova Scotia nicht umsonst das “Florida des Nordens”. Die wichtigsten Städte Europas und Nord Amerikas können von Halifax aus schnell erreicht werden: London, Amsterdam und Frankfurt innerhalb von 5 bis 6 1/2 Stunden Flugzeit. New York, Montreal und Toronto in 1 1/2 bis 2 1/4 Stunden Flugzeit.

Is one of the Provinces of the Atlantic on the parallel of Southern France. The weather in winter is mild and the summers are magnificently warm. A warm, beautiful autumn with a wonderful coloring of leaves (Indian Summer) is the particular charm of this season of the year. The Gulf Stream has an essential impact on the moderate climate. The water  temperatures invite for swimming – in the Atlantic up to 22° C and in the Lakes up to 26° C. Not in vain Nova Scotia is called the “Florida of the North” by Insiders. Die Bay of Fundy mit den weltweit höchsten  Gezeitenunterschieden, ist mit Walen, Delphinen und Tümmlern ein Naturschauspiel, das man einfach gesehen haben muss.

FAUNA AND FLORA

Die naturbelassene Umwelt ist die Heimat einer unglaublichen Artenvielfalt.Die Wälder mit ihren zahllosen Flüssen und Seen sind der Lebensraum von Weisswedelhirschen, Schwarzbären und Füchsen. Biber stauen Bäche an, Tölpel und Möwen gleiten über namenlose Seen und Schildkröten nehmen ein Sonnenbad auf den Felsen. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis: Buckel- und Minkwale auf hoher See, gewaltige Vogelkolonien auf einer Insel oder das Nisten hunderter weißköpfiger Seeadler zu beobachten. The natural environment is the home of an incredible variety of species.

The forests with their countless rivers and lakes are the biotope of the white-tailed deer, of the blackbear and the fox. Beavers dam up brooks, gannets and sea gulls are gliding above nameless lakes and turtles are sun bathing on rocks. An unforgettable experience: A variety of whales on the high seas, enormous colonies of birds on one of the islands or resting of bald eagles can be observed.

Walbeobachtung ander Bay Of Fundy. Tauchen nach Wracks aus drei Jahrhunderten, Flußaufwärtsfahren – angetrieben von einer Flutwelle, campen an einem einsamen Sandstrand. Erforschen uralter Meeresgrotten mit dem Boot, Bootstouren mit dem Kanu oder Kajak. Westernreiten auf dem Quarter Horse, Hochseefischen, Brandungs-fischen,  Lachsfischen. Erkundung der Wälder, wandern, radfahren und viel viel mehr. Überall wohin Sie in Nova Scotia auch kommen finden kleine und große Festivitäten statt. Die schönsten Feste erlebt man aber unter Freunden, mit gegrilltem Lachs, meeresfrischem Hummer und Muscheln.
